Kelly Mahnensmith
As a lifelong learner and educator, I encourage my clients (and their caregivers) to find their strengths and acknowledge their struggles, while not letting their struggles define them. I strive to meet each client where they are in the present moment, building a strong relationship built on authenticity and trust where clients can feel safe being their true selves in session.
Education and Training
After several years working as a public school teacher, I realized my love for social and emotional growth went far deeper than I could provide in the regular education classroom. From there, I went back to school for my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from Vermont State University. During my coursework, I surrounded my research and clinical experiences around family systems, attachment theory, and play therapy.
In therapy, I welcome and appreciate clients from a wide age range. My speciality is working with children and teens. However, I continue to have a deep love and respect for college students, educators, and parents alike.
My lived experiences as a mom, wife, and educator bring a creative blend to the therapy room. I believe no one's life journey is a coincidence or mistake. If you are feeling stuck, struggling with a relationship, or simply are unsure how to navigate your everyday life, please reach out. This could be the first step in your journey to a wholehearted life.
