Kelly Mahnensmith, LMHC-A

In a world that often demands we "have it all together," I believe the most important thing I can offer is a space where you-and your family-don't have to perform. As an educator and a lifelong learner, my primary goal is to meet you exactly where you are today. Together, we will build a relationship rooted in authenticity and trust, ensuring every family member feels safe, heard, and respected as their true self.

I believe that we are all deeply shaped by the systems we belong to. By looking at the family as a whole, we can better understand the unique "dance" between parents and children. My work spans the entire lifespan, focusing on how these connections can be strengthened and healed:

  • Children & Play Therapy: Play is a child's natural language. I utilize play therapy to help children process big emotions and difficult circumstances, while simultaneously helping parents learn to speak that same language of connection.

  • Teens in Transition: I help families navigate the "in-between" years-specifically the anxiety and pressure that often come with graduations and the shift toward young adulthood.

  • The Parental Foundation: Whether you are a new mother trying to rediscover yourself or a parent struggling to find balance in a busy household, I provide a space to exhale. I help parents recalibrate their marriage and their personal identities so the entire family system can thrive.

My background as an educator, wife, and mother allows me to bring a creative, grounded perspective to our sessions. I don't view life's challenges as mistakes; I see them as parts of a journey that require a bit of navigation.

If your family is feeling stuck or simply unsure how to handle the "everydayness" of life, I invite you to reach out. This is the first step toward a more wholehearted and connected family life.
