Lauren Miller
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I am a licensed clinical social worker deeply committed to guiding individuals toward creating more fulfilling lives. I draw inspiration from person-centered therapy and tailor evidence-based practices into personalized strategies and tools to be integrated into daily life. I collaborate with clients to identify strengths, clarify goals, and take practical steps towards realizing their aspirations using a compassionate, non-judgmental approach.
I have over a decade of clinical experience spanning diverse settings, with particular expertise working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety and OCD. I specialize in supporting families during the parenting years, from pregnancy through postpartum and beyond. I also work with couples and families experiencing stress and conflict in their relationships to heal and find a path to move forward. I aim to empower individuals to navigate transitions, overcome obstacles, and cultivate personal growth. Whether you are grappling with life transitions, relationship dynamics, or seeking support during challenging times, I'm dedicated to facilitating your journey forward.
Education and Training:
My interest in therapy started during my undergraduate years at Colgate University, where I served as a peer crisis counselor. I went on to earn a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, where I received specialized training in anxiety, OCD, depression, family therapy, and co-parenting therapy. My own transition to parenthood fostered an interest in maternal mental health, parenting, and community support for families. I am a trained perinatal doula and lactation counselor and co-founder of Bellwether Doulas, a collaborative doula group practice fostering community among families during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. To further advance my knowledge, I completed my Master of Social Work degree at Boston University with a focus on community-based practice and perinatal mental health. My year-long advanced clinical placement at The Women and Infants’ Day Hospital honed my expertise in perinatal anxiety, depression, and OCD. Most recently, I worked at Bradley Hospital in the partial hospital program, supporting school-aged children and their families.
